Time zones

Calendar days and “today”, night work, the edit window, the nightly booking of unexcused absences, leavers and shift reminders are worked out for each person in their time zone. Which one applies follows this order:

  1. the person’s own time zone (Profile → Timezone),
  2. their company’s (Admin → Companies, empty = the installation’s),
  3. the installation’s (Admin → Settings → Default Timezone, Europe/Berlin out of the box).

Nobody has to set anything: without a choice, Europe/Berlin applies. A company in another country gets its own time zone without changing anything for the others. The server’s or container’s time zone (TZ) plays no part; it only changes the times in the log. Changes to a company’s time zone are recorded in the audit log.
