Accessibility
Klokk is built to WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA — the conformance level behind EN 301 549 and Germany’s BFSG and BITV 2.0. Accessibility is treated as a build requirement, not an afterthought: every screen ships keyboard-operable and screen-reader-labelled.
- Full keyboard operation — every control is reachable and operable without a mouse, with a clearly visible focus ring; a “skip to content” link jumps past the navigation.
- Screen-reader support — semantic landmarks and headings, labelled icon-only buttons, ARIA live regions that announce page changes and save/error messages, and the active nav item exposed via
aria-current. - Dialogs — modals are proper
role="dialog"with focus trapped while open, restored on close, and Escape to dismiss. - Readable by default — text contrast meets the 4.5:1 minimum in light and dark themes, layouts reflow to small screens, and nothing relies on colour alone.
- Respects preferences — honours the OS
prefers-reduced-motionsetting, and the page language is declared so screen readers pronounce German and English correctly.
